On August 23rd a fire was reported in our Badlands which is rough pasture with limited road access. There are a lot of
Juniper trees and it is suspected one what struck by lightening in a storm the night before. Responding to the fire were fire departments from Wibaux, Baker, and Golva. We also had BLM involved as we have BLM land in the Badlands. There were 2 planes, a helicopter, and 4 dozers working on the fire. They had it under control before it could get really out of hand. Thanks to all the fire departments, BLM, and the pipeline workers for the quick response.
