From Our Family

From all of us at Nelson Livestock Company, welcome to our Annual Bull Sale. Here in Eastern Montana, the winters stay honest, the winds never quite take a day off, and the good stretches of weather remind us why we choose to make a life in this country. Through every season, the cattle keep us steady—and the people who ranch out here continue to motivate us to do things the right way: with integrity, family values, and a commitment to producing cattle that stand up to the realities of this landscape.

The bulls in this year’s offering reflect generations of Nelson family knowledge, hard work, and early mornings spent building cattle that can thrive in this part of the world. We develop them the same way we run our entire cow herd: practical, durable, and ready to go to work in big country. These bulls are raised on forage, expected to travel, and selected first and foremost for disposition, fertility, and long-lasting structural soundness.

Eastern Montana demands cattle with heart, and we are proud of the genetics these bulls bring forward—calving ease that lets you rest a little easier, performance that pays its way, and maternal strength that leaves its mark for years to come. We’ve done our best to offer bulls we’d turn out ourselves, because many of you run cows in the same kind of terrain, under the same kind of weather, and with the same goals in mind.

For our family, this sale is more than a date on the calendar. It’s a time to gather with neighbors, longtime customers who’ve become part of the Nelson Livestock community, and new faces who share our appreciation for good cattle and good country. Your trust and support mean more to us than we can say, and we don’t take it for granted.

We invite you to look through the offering, study the numbers, and give us a call or stop by the ranch if you’d like to talk through which bulls might be the best fit for your program. We’re always glad to visit.

Thank you for being part of this year’s sale and for supporting Nelson Livestock Company. We’re proud to raise cattle in eastern Montana—and even prouder to share them with hardworking folks like you. Wishing you a smooth calving season, plenty of moisture, and a productive year ahead!

Sincerely,

The Nelson Family
